How?
Starting with the rope behind you, pull it up and over your head. As the rope approaches your feet, cross your left arm across your hips and place your left wrist on top of your right wrist, so that your left hand crosses past your right hand. The rope will then form a crossed loop as it swings past your right side. As the rope approaches the floor again, scoop your left hand back into its pocket position and jump the rope in an Open.
Why?
Swings are one of the most foundational pieces of freestyle jump rope there is. Understanding proper form in your Swings and how to utilise them effectively will help you build better sequences and combos later on.
