Crosses
Crosses form the backbone of jump rope, they are the letters of our jump rope alphabet. Crosses can be grouped by whether they happen around the body, around the legs or on the ground.
Body Crosses are skills where both hands cross around the jumper’s torso, such as the EB and TS.
Leg Crosses are skills where one or both hands cross under one of the jumper’s legs, such as the Leg Over and Awesome Annie.
Ground Crosses are skills where one or both hands cross around both legs, usually requiring the jumper to squat down to the ground.
The EB is a body cross where the jumper crosses one hand in front of their hips and one behind.
The Leg Over (AKA Crougar/Kruger) is a leg cross where the jumper places their hand under the leg of the same side.
The Awesome Annie is a side swing movement between the two leg crosses, Toad and Leg Over, and vice versa.
